Recommendation from a former student

“I just had my first online gurdy lesson with Christian Mohr Levisen and have to share my excitement with y’all!

I am self taught in plenty of stuff and never really been the “listen to the teacher” kind of gal. But somehow I ended up in a band. And I felt like my gurdy playing was nowhere near good to be in one, and like I wasn’t getting any real good progress, even though I was practicing almost every day for the past half a year. So I figured I needed help.

And when Christian offered some lessons, I messaged him and I feel like it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! He explains things patiently and in a really simple way, and notices even the slightest movements, so I’ve immediately learned what I was doing wrong and what to change to start doing it right. Of course it will take practice (with great exercises from Christian!), but now I have a clear sense of direction and feel really confident I can get better And I can’t wait for another lesson!

What I’m trying to say is – if you’re frustrated with your technique, (there were times I wanted to throw my gurdy out of the window, believe me) – get a good teacher. Get a few lessons. It will do wonders for your self confidence and your playing.

And even if you’re not frustrated, give lessons a go – it’s really worth it.

And if you want a great teacher, I recommend Christian. He’s a really likeable guy and really knows his gurdy stuff ”
